Founded in 1995, Journal of Tropical Meteorology has been adhering to the highest academic standards and improved the quality of editing and proofreading. Featuring tropical meteorology, the journal has been working industrially on the exchange of academic achievements and prosperity among Chinese meteorologists. It is now quite well-known both at home and abroad, becoming one of the source journals in a number of Chinese and international indexes and databanks.
The journal is abstracted / indexed in:
★ASPT (a database co-founded by relevant agencies in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University and China Academic Journal)
★CEPS (Chinese Electronic Periodicals Service)
★CJFD (Chinese Journal Full-text Database, Tsinghua University)
★CSAE (Chinese Science Abstracts)
★JCR/SE (Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition)
★MGA (Meteorological and Geoastrophysical Abstracts)
★ProQuest Environmental Science Collection database
★SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded)
★SCOPUS (an Elsevier product)
Belonging to the field of atmospheric sciences, Journal of Tropical Meteorology focuses on tropical meteorology. It publishes the tropical atmospheric dynamics, synoptic meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, atmospheric environment and numerical weather prediction and other aspects of academic achievements, reports on new prediction methods and successful experiences, and reviews the progress of research as it is unfolded. Since its first issue in December 1995, the journal has been publishing air-sea interactions, interactions between middle and lower latitudes, low-frequency oscillations and teleconnections, low-latitude atmospheric circulation anomalies and their mechanisms, the effects of tropical atmospheric circulation anomalies on global weather and climate, monsoon dynamics, the dynamics and kinematics of tropical cyclones and other hot topics in frontier research. More than 90% of the published papers were supported by research funds and foundations. The journal has two columns, one being the articles and the other being the notes and correspondence, ideally suitable for professional readers in studying, teaching or learning meteorology, oceanography, geography, aviation and space flight, agriculture, forestry, fishery, water conservancy and power grid safety.
